Well, despite the weather, and the rain date, Hot Rods and Harleys this year was still a HUGE success - and many thanks to everyone who came out to see all the cars, bikes, vendors, live bands and more. And thanks to all the bands who rocked despite being drizzled on occasionally, and the vendors who lined the streets with interesting wares and wonderful aromas.
Special thanks to the City of Rahway for all their help with all the details behind the scenes to make the event flow smoothly, and the police, and of course DPW who was out early in the morning, and in force cleaning up after the event. And without the support of the City Council, who among other things, approved the street closings, this event couldn't happen.
And thanks to Sam from the UCPAC for bringing Ballets with a Twist live on stage to the event (if you missed it, you still have one more chance to see it this afternoon). And of course we can't forget all the generous sponsors who help with the costs, and all the volunteers who donate their time, making this not only a great city event, but allowing us to make it free to all participants in the Car and Bike Shows.
And, of course, thanks to everyone who came out to see Hot Rods and Harleys despite the mediocre weather we had. Guess it was finally time after 10 years of beautiful weather. But the people of Rahway don't let a little rain get in their way of having fun, and we could tell by how many people were on the streets of Downtown Rahway.
Please feel free to share your pictures or videos on the Facebook page, the Twitter feed, the Google+ page or in the comments here on our website (www.hrandh.com). This is a community event, and without everyone who helped spread the word, especially the Rahway Arts District and all our friends and fans on Facebook, we never would have pulled it off.
See you next year!
