Hot Rods and Harleys Rocks Downtown Rahway for the 10th year in a row!

As anyone who attended Hot Rods and Harleys on Saturday, May 12, 2012 could see, this 10th annual event was the biggest and best attended event so far.  Thousands flocked to the downtown area to view the hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles and custom choppers.  They also got to enjoy live music at every corner of the Downtown Area, and vendors selling everything from jewelry to toy cars to cotton candy – even ice cream served by Elvis himself!

A clear sky and balmy 80 degree day brought the people out in droves – and not just locals!  We got to showcase Rahway to people from miles away who came to see what the event had to offer.  The local restaurants and pubs flaunted their specialties, and even though the event officially ended at 6pm, the fun went on long past dusk.

“The city seems so alive,” said Tom McTamney, Chairman of the Rahway Center Partnership, who, in conjunction with Liberty Harley-Davidson, RSI Bank, Northfield Bank, Kristen Distributing and BBC Speed and Machine, sponsored this event this year.  “We couldn’t have done it without our sponsors, including all the local businesses pulling together to sponsor the trophies and T-shirts.  Thanks to the City of Rahway, and all of our volunteers who gave up their Saturday so that everyone else could have a great time.  They really came through, and Hot Rods and Harleys went off without a hitch.”

Hot Rods and Harleys Band Profile - World Within

This year, just like the last 6 years before, local band World Within will be rockin' the Rahway Train Station Plaza among the custom and classic bikes sure to be on display.

"OVER TWENTY years strong, the band continues to attract old fans as well as new! Over 2006, World Within has allied with new pals at Liberty Harley Davidson/Buell in Rahway New Jersey, as well as the Rahway Center Partnership. These new alliances have opened up a vast new audience and opportunities for the band to get out and JAM (which is what they do best!)! Playing a number of charity fundraisers for these folks has been an honor and has strengthened the band's ties with new fans and the community as well! This year is sure to bring on more of the same and will also bring World Within to many new venues and events as the year progresses.

No one leaves a World Within show disappointed, the band guarantees! You never know what to expect at any of their shows! With over 20 years of Jamming under their belts, the band's ability to create music "on the spot" and pleasing to all, is apparent. In true Grateful Dead fashion, each show is a unique experience. Experimental at times, but always creative, you can expect the unexpected, and anything can happen! Don't miss the opportunity to experience this band! St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl 2009

Join the Rahway Center Partnership and the Central Jersey Police & Fire Pipe & Drums for a St. Patrick's Day Rahway Tradition!

Meet in the Liberty Harley-Davidson parking lot at 6:15pm, and we'll pipe our way through Downtown Rahway to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

We'll be hitting Mangos, Cubanu, Flynn's Irish Pub, Nancy's Townhouse, the Waiting Room, The Hotel Indigo and Luciano's (not necessarily in that order!) and enjoying a few minutes of Bagpipe music at each stop!
